Objectives:
State Health Oklahoma Academic Standards from the State Department of Education will be used to teach students the fundamental of healthy lifestyles and decision making
Sequence of learning:
Unit factors needed for understanding a healthy lifestyle— relationships, emotional health, body systems, nutrition, physical exercise guidelines, etc. will be taught.
Teaching methods:
I will use many different instructional strategies some of which include lecture, group work, class discussions, research paper, oral reports, students teaching other students, rubrics and role play. Supplemental materials include Current Health magazines and relevant articles, video clips, etc. taken off credible sites on the Internet.
Assessment and grades:
Rubrics, performance tests, written tests, projects and oral reports are examples of assessment methods that will be used. A comprehensive semester test will be given.
Communicating progress:
I will use weekly posting of grades, e-mail contacts and/or grade reports. You may check grade progress using the Power School parent portal.
